There is now just one BriJ app on the Apple App Store:

BJ Bridge lets you choose between beginner versions of Acol or Standard American as well as the original Benji Acol Convention Card. Optionally there are now in-app purchases to enable you to upgrade to a full choice of convention systems. Also there is an in-app purchase to remove ads if you wish.


If you had already downloaded a previous version of BJ Bridge Pro from the Apple App Store, you will get all the features you are used to without further payment

BJ Bridge Free (2021) lets you choose between beginner versions of Acol or Standard American as well as the original Benji Acol Convention Card.
BJ Bridge Pro 2021 lets you specify your detailed conventions in any style.

Over 2 million games of BriJ now played every month!
That's 70,000 games a day, averaging 1 every second!!

This version introduces 'Tournament Mode'. It lets you play a typical bridge session of 20+ boards to see how your results compare to real player opponents. While you choose to stay in the session,  BriJ shows a running percentage showing your position in that session.


Just like a live game in a club!

the Pro version also adds the Roman Key Card Blackwood 0314 variant as an option to the existing RKCB 1430 variant.

comparing your results against real players.

"Two Over One" is now available in the iPhone / iPad version of BJ Bridge Pro.

You can add this option to your basic bidding system whether SAYC, Acol or Benji Acol.
Select "Options" then your bidding style choice convention page to turn it on.

Version 2.3 also supports the latest iOS 11.
Many other improvements to bidding, play and hints, too.

BriJ apps for iOS, Version 2.1 includes the recent product enhancements:-
  • A new feature to deal the cards manually: deal from scratch or amend an existing deal. (Find this in the “Load” icon popup).
  • A new option to delete deal files you have previously saved
  • Additional 'Save Deal' options: change Dealer or Vulnerability; add a comment to the deal file; overwrite an existing deal file; improved Save & Share features.
  • An improved score card. If you’re not familiar with Duplicate Bridge scoring, touch a score in the scoresheet results to see how the result has been calculated.
  • For club sessions, Scoresheets are now sorted by the duplicate score each player (pair) has made. Your own score is highlighted so that you can compare it with other players.
  • There is a new option to slow down auto-play (with 3 speed choices).
  • There is a new option to allow use of mobile data connection for internet access, for example to download club sessions while out and about
  • The Landy bridge convention is now available in the Pro app

BJ Bridge Pro is now out on the iTunes App Store.

This joins BJ Bridge Lite (free) which uses a fairly simple, fixed Benji Acol system.
 Also the free BJ Bridge Beginner Acol that has been available for some time.

This duplicate bridge game is specially designed for beginners learning the Acol system of bidding. It follows the "Bridge for All" Foundation Level recommended for students by the English Bridge Union (EBU). As well as offering unlimited random deals, it includes practice hands from the EBU "Red Book". All totally free!

New for iPhone / iPad versions: Download a bridge club session and see your results for each board you bid and play, compared directly to players’ results at the club.

Over 1 million games now played every month! :o

Our BriJ family of Duplicate Bridge apps now includes a Lite version playing Benji Acol, a Pro version with a wide choice of bidding styles and a recent addition: Duplicate Bridge Beginner. The latter follows the EBU Acol bidding style as taught to many students in their first year of learning.

Release 5.0 is a major upgrade.

Some of the highlights:

▶ Much improved ‘Advanced Play Engine’ with option to show alternative card plays
▶ Extended hints: glossary links for bridge jargon and presentation of occasional news flash items
▶ Layout changes: ‘(v)’ now signals vulnerable directions (plus colour coding); Dummy height reduced in some modes
▶ Improved bidding: many changes resulting from your feedback
▶ RED BOOK: now shows page numbers; also the bridge table rotates to show the target hand; additional help is included for some deals, e.g. where BriJ doesn't conform exactly to the Red Book

Duplicate Bridge Beginner

is a new, free version of BriJ intended for student players learning the Acol system of bidding as promoted by the English Bridge Union (EBU).

It conforms to the EBU "Foundation Level" for Acol bidding and includes the practice hands presented in the EBU BOOK ONE (Beginning Bridge), otherwise known as the Red Book.

The app was launched yesterday on Google Play. It's the first BriJ app to feature a new, improved Play Engine. This engine will be rolled out into other versions of BriJ in a few days as Release 5.0, together with many other improvements.
