Over 1 million games now played every month! :o

Our BriJ family of Duplicate Bridge apps now includes a Lite version playing Benji Acol, a Pro version with a wide choice of bidding styles and a recent addition: Duplicate Bridge Beginner. The latter follows the EBU Acol bidding style as taught to many students in their first year of learning.

Merry Christmas!

Some of the highlights:

▶ Extended hints: glossary links for bridge jargon and presentation of occasional news flash items
▶ Layout changes: ‘(v)’ now signals vulnerable directions (plus colour coding); Dummy height reduced in some modes
▶ Improved bidding: many changes resulting from your feedback
▶ RED BOOK: now shows page numbers; also the bridge table rotates to show the target hand; additional help is included for some deals, e.g. where BriJ doesn't conform exactly to the Red Book

Duplicate Bridge Beginner

is a new, free version of BriJ intended for student players learning the Acol system of bidding as promoted by the English Bridge Union (EBU).

It conforms to the EBU "Foundation Level" for Acol bidding and includes the practice hands presented in the EBU BOOK ONE (Beginning Bridge), otherwise known as the Red Book.

The app was launched yesterday on Google Play. It's the first BriJ app to feature a new, improved Play Engine. This engine will be rolled out into other versions of BriJ in a few days as Release 5.0, together with many other improvements.

BriJ on a PC / Latest emulators for Android on a PC

Microsoft is promising that you'll soon be able to run Android apps on Windows 10:)

In the meantime there are emulators that some members have mentioned in posts, including BlueStacks.

There are web sites listing other possibilities, e.g. http://www.techbate.com/5-best-android-emulator-for-windows-87xp/

Another free product I've noticed recently is Nox App Player http://www.softpedia.com/get/Mobile-Phone-Tools/Others/Nox-APP-Player.shtml

Has anyone tried this yet?

Latest News on BriJ Releases / Release 4.13.2
« Last post by BriJ on August 15, 2015, 08:55:10 AM »

This release fixes a few teething problems in 4.13:
  • prevention of a (very rare) crash on start-up
  • more changes when playing 3rd before Dummy
  • 'final' fix to vulnerability as it shows in the score sheet
  • better layout for LITE - a smaller Dummy space gives more room in the centre
  • better layout for large tablets in landscape mode: a wider control panel makes it easier to read help, hints and also club download results in the 'aim' tab
